Re: The 71 4 door
Im wondering if 2 door quarters will work. They look pretty close. Im thinking about asking a local goodmark dealer thats a friend to let me barrow a quarter to check.

Re: The 71 4 door
I've wondered that as well. The only thing I'd be worried about is the "Power Bulge" below the main crease & how it would line up. Wait... your buddy is a Goodmark dealer? That's awesome!
Let me know if it fits for future reference. the 73 makes A-body #7, so I'm sure I'll end up with another 70-72 later on down the road.

I figured that was the original paint job, but from the looks of that pic I'd say there's at least another layer under there. That paint looks awfully thick to be original.

Good deal man, I'm anxious to see this thing when it's finished. If you end up selling the 350 I call dibs, lol.

Re: The 71 4 door
lol, I think the 350 will probably be staying in it for a while, till the rat motor gets done. itll be kinda nice to drive an old car around that should get fairly good gas mileage and have AC.
Still got to get a windsheild and get the title and tags up to date and come get that 2dr shell soon.

Re: The 71 4 door
When you're looking for a windshield make sure to look for a 4 door windshield! They are about an inch taller than a 2 door... no joking.
I'm seriously looking for a 350 though. I started mowing so I can have some play money, $90 a week to blow is kind of nice. I do have like half of a 350 in the 73...

Christine strikes again! How's the leg doing BTW?
Good to hear that it's up & running, maybe you can post a video once everything gets going smoother.

Re: The 71 4 door
Not really I drove it to my dads and its been sitting there ever since while I gather parts for it. The tranny leaked its fluid out, but I fire it up and move it every once in a while. AC still works too.
I got another fender and inner fender for it, Need the fender extention, hood, and windsheild.
Im thinking about when I get a windsheild that ill start driving it daily.

Man, if I could I would. I am selling my Cutlass to help pay for loans acquired from the wedding & the upcoming move to Kansas. It was either the Cutlass or the 73, so I let the wife choose. She always hated my little redhead, so I knew which one was going bye bye before I even asked.

Re: The 71 4 door
Ha, yeah. Well the good news is I used to buy cars upon cars when I had money, so now that I'm broke I am selling/trading them to get what I need done. I'm trading off her Accord & my Jimmy to my buddy with the salvage yard for a lot of good stuff. Probably heading that way later on today to start picking parts. Bad news is the 73 is "hers" until she gets bored of it. It was either that or she would have wanted me to sell it too. More good news, she's actually looking around for a good Vo-Tech to learn how to work on cars for herself. She actually wants to help build the car! What a sport.
So for now, I'm gonna look for the complete running gear from a 91-93 Caprice with a 350. Those years were the only ones I found with 3.42 gears, TBI, & also all of the suspension goodies I want in one package. Yeah they also have overdrive, but I still feel happier leaving the 700r4 where it lies & grabbing a 200-4r. I'm supposed to be moving out there as soon as dad gets everything out, which should be a month or so. Day number one, Marvin gets a new home in the garage. (I changed the name when a kid said it was green like Marvin the Martian)
BTW, it was a great conversation piece at my wedding after party. We all headed for the garage around 9pm when one of my groomsmen noticed it sitting next to the 76 (had it parked up there to protect it from TP, shoe polish, & beer cans, you know). Anyways, one of my cousins goes over & just couldn't quit staring at that beautiful "black" car! (remember: night time in the woods) For nearly a month, he has been hounding me about finding one of his own. Yay, another convert!

Re: The 71 4 door
Hey you need to bring me a bill and tear out all this interior LOL.
I got the correct front seat as well but needs recovered,
If you dont come get it, its going on ebay.
If your careful you could probably get the mint headliner out as well.
The interior is awesome shape for such a nasty car and is ther correct green color for the old 73
