Rear springs Empty Rear springs

Post by Damon23 Mon Apr 17, 2017 5:59 pm

I'm getting ready to get the new springs for my 75 Malibu. It sits decent but the rear is too high for me. I was thinking about the eibach sport set up for the 95 Impala SS but the research I'm doing leads me to see that it is only a 1.2 inch drop from stock. I need the rear to come down a full 2 inches. I see where OPGI has a 1,2 and a 3 inch drop spring. Anyone have experience with those? I read the build thread for the Sean Rich's car and he posted he used the OPGI 2 inch set up but who knows in the pages and pages of postings if he did anything else. I don't want it too low but I'm afraid I'll end up with a rake when I want the car to sit level.

Never tried them. But might be worth a shot. Adjustable up to 2 inches.

I personally would not use those. I've heard they weaken the springs. But you just never know.

This thread has some pics. G3Nut installed the OPGI rear springs as well. I had the Bell Tech's installed (front and back) and I didn't like them for the rear. I had a rake from front to back.

I'm still trying to figure out what lowering springs to install.

I think I'm going to go with the OPGI 2 inch drop for the rear. If that does not work then I'll try the 3 inch.

I did 2" Belltech drop springs front and back on my SS a few years back. It rode great and handled well for a 4000 pound plus vehicle.
