1/4 glass trim Empty 1/4 glass trim

I'm installing my 1/4 glass trim on my 1973 Century.It's nos plastic. What type of adhesive should I use? It almost seems like I don't need any, but I would feel better if it had some kind of adhesive somewhere. Also, is it normal to have to trim 1/2" off of both ends at the top where they meet? The ends are only 3/8" away from the corner and it seems like I need a little more space to get the trim piece in. Also, is anyone filling the lower edge of the glass to prevent water from sitting in there? Thanks, Jeff
