Monte tire help Empty Monte tire help

Post by KC77Monte Tue Jul 12, 2016 10:03 pm

Starting to gather my parts for my suspension rebuild this fall along with new wheels/tires for the monte and kind of stuck on rear tire size. The car has 225/70/15 on it now, so I want to go wider in the rear but not really sure what will fit back there. Monte guys, let's see what your running on your rides.

So I bought my front set of wheels and thought I would try them on before ordering tires. Does this look like enough clearance for the front end parts, mainly the upper A-arm and tie rod? Its a 15 x 8 with 4 1/2 bs.

It looks good, and the numbers are right (backspacing) I'd suggest bolt the wheel on turn the steering wheel all the way left and spin the wheel to see if it has touched anything, then all the way to the right and repeat. Don't forget to post a picture of the wheels you picked...

After thinking about I looked at the side with the stock wheel on and it looks the same. The wheels are just Cragar S/S. My wife works for the company that owns cragar so we get a discount.
