Short stay
The wife & I were in Hawaii for about 9 days, to attend our youngest son's graduation ceremony at the University of Hawaii. He received his PHD/Doctorate degree on the 20th of this month.
We had a nice time, since we have a number of friends there in the music scene. ( I play Hawaiian steel guitar) My son has been plugging away for almost 12 years, and graduated near the top of the class, for his efforts, and of course we are really proud of him.
Hope everyone here has a good new year ....

Re: Short stay
Yes, bringing some heat back is a great idea ! I just went to the local gas station, and the cold wind about froze my face ! It's about 15 degrees here right now...way too cold to fool around outside !

Re: Short stay
Bill- Congrats to you & your son!
It's nice to see the fruit of ones labor culminate into success! I hope he'll enjoy his endeavors enough that it'll always be fun for him & not ever feel like work!

Re: Short stay
Thanks guys. He has been teaching at a university in Florida while finishing his thesis for the PHD. He also has about 10 or 12 years of Chinese language, and has been to China frequently in the summer months.
That may be worth something in the future, hard to say.....
