Yes the bottom pipe should "fit" the bottom of tbe ball joint. There a lip on the bottom of the joint that should keep the pipe centered. And yes, the top pipe is tapping the arm down without touching the joint. Thats where youll get some paint scratches.

I didn't get to the shop today. Real busy in the office. I hope to get what I need, in the next few days, and maybe tackle it over the weekend. These damn jobs I am drawing in the office all start late and need to finish early. Glad I have the '74 to keep me sane.....
