Moog 6381 Wagon Springs ride height / stance.
A while back I had mentioned that I installed Moog 6381 wagon springs in my '76 to lower my stance 1/2 inch from my previous cc507 springs. I thought I would post a picture in case anyone anyone else like myself was wondered what the stance would look like. The ride is not harsh but firm. Spring rate is 198lbs.

Looks real mean!! Any rubbing in the back with a load? Also, 295/50/15 all around?
I would love to go with a wider profile tire all around, it really suits our cars.

Re: Moog 6381 Wagon Springs ride height / stance.
Thanks ant7377 & BK-75. I've been running these 15x8.5 w/295/50r15s on all 4 corners for the past 16yrs without any rubbing concerns. For 10yrs I used Air Shocks to level out & ensure I had no rubbing when I towing. But ever since I retired it from boat towing in 2004 I've been running gas charged Eldebrock shocks & have never had rubbing even with a trunk full of groceries. I agree with you on the wider profile on all 4 with our 73-77 A-Bodies. Our cars are wide anyway. May as well go with it & accent wide body with a wide stance. Watching 70's racing as a kid, I remember thinking how cool & different these cars looked in race form. Ever since I purchased my '76 in 1993... I've tried to play off that '73 - 77 Nascar theme. I guess the kid in me watching 70's racing on Saturday's Wide World of Sports on ABC comes back out when it comes to build ideas on our '73-77s.

I love the look you've got going. Do you have any more pics of the car. A rear shot so that you can see the width of the tires a little better, maybe?
Also love the nascar look for G3 Chevelles!

Nice! I like the blacked out quads too, (almost makes me want to sell my round headlight replacements).

I really like the stance of your car! Do you think those springs would work in my 76 Monte? I need to lower the front of my car about an inch or so (due the the lighter aluminum heads/intake on the crate motor). The rear sits about perfect. Any advice or specific companies/parts I should look into?

Granted I've never had my car in a magazine, but I've got friends and family that ask me those type of questions. "Whats with the", Its what I like and its my car, if you don't like it, don't look at it! I like the look of the headlight covers, and I'll be doing that to my chevelle and Elco![img][/img] I'm waiting for my friends to give me crap about these!

Re: Moog 6381 Wagon Springs ride height / stance.
Hi driveit. I will take a rear shot this weekend so you can get a better idea of the tire width. JiMi Drix...on the front I'm using Moog 590's. Which was used on some years of Montes. But I would do some homework with some different Moog coil spring numbers because 590's on your Monte will not have the same effect the did for my Malibu due to roughly a est of a 200 lbs weight difference under the hood. Thanks guys for the approval of the blacked out headlights. I hope johnny law doesn't hassle me. 73 454 Monte...I really like your car's stance! Perfect in my opinion. I once had my Malibu up around that height but due to the  Malibu body lines I didn't like it as well. I think the lines of the Montes supports the raised look much better. Looks very tough! I also like blackouts even though CC may not think to much of them.

Re: Moog 6381 Wagon Springs ride height / stance.
Thats the stance I'm talking about. Looks excellent! Your pinstriping really brings out the 73-77 Montes classic body lines that go so well with a lifted stance with 15 inch rims. I also very much like your Monte's Burgandy & Tan color combo. Sweet looking Monte!
