I would be looking to recoup some of my losses from this licence plate bracket, If anyone can give me any info. on what kind of car it is from, or what it will fit, It would be greatly appreciated. (It doesn't in any way fit mine)

That may very well be off a Monte Carlo, afterall. As I said previously, the ctr-to-ctr distance on the bottom mtg bolts on my '77 measure about 8"...the fronts measure about 3 3/4" ctr-to-ctr.

It came off the front of the Laguna...bolted to the bottom of the front bumper...I can't quite figure out why it won't fit.

Are you saying that the holes don't line up?

Can you just drill out new holes on the bottom?

I assumed, incorrectly apparently, that all of the brackets for the Mlaibu/Laguna would be the same.

yes the bolt spacing is different from the Laguna to the Malibu bumper and thats probally the problem

That would be the issue than, the holes didn't line up at all, it didnt even fit the shape of the bumper. Sad really
