Original 1973 Vacuum Line Routing
I have a bone stock 1973 SS Wagon, with all the emissions intact. I just returned the original carb to its home , replacing some non-stock Frankenstein version of a Quadrajet. Anyhow, I'm checking the vacuum line routing to the carb. Does anyone have a picture or diagram of what goes to what port? Seems I'm a port short. The service manual isn't any help on this one. Thanks.

Re: Original 1973 Vacuum Line Routing
Just off the top of my head, when facing the front of the car, the distributor vacuum advance is on the left side of the QJ main body where all the choke/fast idle stuff is. The dashpot of which is part of all that choke stuff connects to the front of the carb main body just to the left of the fuel inlet. The carbon canister connects to the front of the main carb body to the right of the fuel inlet. The PCV connects to the front on the throttle body. The power brakes connects to the back of the throttle body.
If this doesn't help, I'll check my manuals and bulletins at home.

Re: Original 1973 Vacuum Line Routing
On a '73 BB carb, 7043200:
Dist advance connects to driver side port mid way up the main body.
EGR connects to pass side port in the base plate.
Choke pull off connects to a "T" on the upper part of the main body, pass side. Not sure what connects to the other part of the "T". vapor canister maybe?
The side port by the fast idle choke pull assy off should connect to the air cleaner.
Small block carb is very similar.
You can see the "T" where the pull off connects on the link below.

Re: Original 1973 Vacuum Line Routing
That is a pretty close match to how it was set up. But that leaves the vacuum line to the AIR system not connected.

Are you talking about the vacuum hose that goes from the diverter valve on the A.I.R. pump to the carb?

The vacuum source for that is a port on the main body.
