Just had a question before I order a new package tray, was wondering if the 73 ss 2dr came with top mount or bottom mount 6x9s

For some reason, I dont remember if it was mine or another one that I parted out, I kind of remember a bracket, maybe a wire bracket that the speaker laid in and it hooked to the package tray from the bottom. Just going from vague memory from the early 80's.
I just have the speaker screws dropped through the holes from the top before I installed my package tray. That way I can install the 6x9's from the bottom.
Nothing going through the package tray itself. No grills or anything. Speakers from the bottom.

yeah thats one of the things i was trying to figure out if i needed the tray with the little holes so sound can come thorough or not.

You can Order Both styles one Plain and the Other has the Holes for the Sound to come thru easier.

def want the Padding I would assume so it sits level, Maybe someone else can Chime in on this.... I am putting padding in Mine

I stopped at an upholstery supply shop and bought the material for door panels and package trays. Traced my old one on to it, cut it and the speaker holes. Then added the jute backing that I got at the same place and installed it. Cost me a grand total of $20?
