Dynchel... it looks great, but I don't think it is from a Monte SS. My 86 is different.

The yards said they were off '87 Monte Carlo's, they didn't mention SS. I would assume that these were off standard Monte Carlos.

I'm sorry. Totally missed that. After thinking about it for awhile you might be correct. My sister had a new 87 LS, before her husband totaled it and it did not have the same air cleaner as my SS.

It's all good, I wish I found a SS air cleaner, I had a hard enough time finding what I did.

I'm pretty sure that is with modified, or from something else. The factory wouldn't have had a snorkel pointing towards the a/c box.

My setup was worth about .2 sec reduction in ET.

Thanks Keith, I don't know if the gains would carry over to a car that runs lower mph.

That dual snorkel air cleaner looks very similar to one off a '67 Chevy II with the L79 engine. Like this one. Custom cold air intake - Page 2 1966-c10

But the early ones didn't have the heat valves in the snorkels. Very Happy

Might be easier to find one out of an 83 Z28 with a H.O. 305.
