Stock type control arms?
I just started to restore my front control arms and am weighing the cost/time/effort versus buying new ones. Other than the high dollar tubular ones, has anyone came across any stock type arms for sale anywhere? I keep seeing mentions that 2nd Gen Camaro control arms, upper or lower, can't remember which, fit our cars. I have seen no OEM type arms for sale for our cars.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill, go to this website and see what fits. It look like both upper and lower control arms fit from the Camaro/Firebird. Just follow the promps and you should be able to figure out what fits our cars. Now this is for used parts, but you will know what fits at least.

Check it out...clean up the old ones. Take a propane torch to the shells of the bushings and push out the old rubber bushing. That shell hasn't gone anywhere in 40 years, it's not moving now. Use Polyurethane bushings and slide 'em in there. Before you do this, take it to a machine shop, have the old ball joints pressed out. Get 'em sandblasted somewhere or just do a cleanup with solvent and a wire brush on a die grinder. Paint 'em, bring 'em back to the machine shop with the new ball joints, then bring them home and put in new poly bushings with a C-clamp or vise. Advanced Auto has a rent a tool for the upper control arm that works so easily. Just mark what direction the upper mounting bar is facing.
