Gas Tank Mounting Brackets

Gas Tank Mounting Brackets
Just noticed the other day that my 77 Malibu has a different mount for the gas tank strap than my 75 Laguna. Looked through some old pics and found a 77 El Camino I parted out had the same mounts as my 77 Malibu. I'm assuming they changed this design in 76 or 77. Anyone have a 76 they can check?

'75 style. They seemed to be in good enough shape when I switched out my tank last year.

Re: Gas Tank Mounting Brackets
When I bought new straps for my '75 Elco project, they were for a Chevelle ! So I just added a section in the center of each strap. When I checked around later, I found that ( at the time) there were no Elco straps available.
We just do what we have to to get things together !!

I've forgotten where I got my straps, could look it up if anyone needs to know. Maybe they were too short--they didn't bolt up as high as the originals. But they were billed as ElCo.
