Landau Top Removal
Hello, been a while.
My top has been consistently worse, so I've decided to remove it. I had considered getting it replaced, but it's too expensive for my taste.
My current goal is to remove the top, remove the adhesive covering the metal, sand it down, prime it, and paint it black
Hopefully I'm going to be able to leave the vinyl top molding where it is, as it seems like removing it would be very difficult.

^ I'm pretty that's where the water is entering my trunk!

Anyone have any hints/tips on getting rid of the extra that's left over? (see the last picture)
I'm going to try goo-gone to see if that removes the sticky stuff all over.
Any feedback will be helpful, as I feel like I might be doing something wrong...

Regular paint thinner, buy a gallon can it'll take the glue right off... Enough that you can sand it with 80, 180, then prime.

Be carefull of the seam on the piler near the top of the glass, it is very likely lead. You don't want to touch it or breathe its dust.

Best thing I did to my Malibu was to get rid of the vinyl top. Replaced it once, then for restoration I ripped it off, along with all it's moldings. It was rusty under the vinyl both times I removed it.
