Lugnuts
Hey guys I need some help with this. I bought a new set of wheels for my 77 Monte. Im not sure what lugnuts I need. I know 7/16 X 20 with the washers but how long ? Should the end of the lug nut be flush with the mounting pad of the rim? Or should it be in there a little? I never had a set of aftermarket wheels before so Im not sure and I cant seem to get a good answer. Also any one know where to get a nice set instead of some Chinese junk that going to get rusty? Thanks.

Re: Lugnuts
Mcgard lug nuts are what you want. Try summit, jegs, amazon etc. Best quality IMHO. As far as length goes, as long as they don't protrude further than the wheel you are good. If they are too long (go to far into the wheel) for whatever reason you can always double the washers...my two front slots have double washers.....probably not the best solution but it works. What did you get? Cragers?

Re: Lugnuts
Centerline qualifiers. So I bought a pack of of lug nuts and the end of it is id say less than a 1/4 inch in there,I guess that is ok? Here is the rims http://www.jegs.com/p/Center-Line-Wheels/Center-Line-Competition-Series-Qualifier-Wheel/1053990/10002/-1

Re: Lugnuts
No problem. Didn't the manufacturer have a lugnut recommendation?

Re: Lugnuts
Ant, I have some of those type of lug nuts on my centerlines. Two different lengths. Your welcome to try what I have. Measure how thick them metal is in the lug nut hole. Maybe its the same as either of my rims and we'll know which we need.

Re: Lugnuts
Ok Joe thanks. I'll try and measure. I think what I bought will be ok,the next size is going to stick out. Will be too long.

Re: Lugnuts
Stick a pencil or something in there for the depth and measure it. Then give me a call.

Re: Lugnuts
Isn't that the lugnut requirement right on the page from the Jegs link? 1/2" mag shank?
