That's a nice " doctored up" '59 olds..only 371's & 394's available in '59...I have a '60 ('60 is better lol). Her "facts" are funny..."biggest block alive?", "kind the police drive"... Oh well I like the song (its in my ipod) even if the " specs" are from the people that brought us fast & furious.

I was an Olds guy a long time ago, in the late 50s & through the 60s. Had one in a '40 FORD coupe, with LaSalle transmission.
Have to remember, that it replaced a Ford flat head !

And had the same set-up in a '46 Studebaker coupe.
Both were fun cars.

Pila.. It blows my mind that you are talking about driving in the late 50s and into the 60's and I'm reading it on the internet. Knowing what age range that puts you in, I think it's awesome. I'm 29 and my grandfather can barely even turn the computer on. I would hate to see him even try to post on a forum. I don't think the computer would survive the heave across the room. Lol

Good thing they smeared plenty of Vaseline on the lens -- that car needs some TLC. Still, nice to see one about an atypical car.

Yeah, the old days fumes, before all the additives in there these days. Gas actually smelled good back then !
Swapping bigger engines in old Fords was quite common back then, hence the name Fordillac etc. Olds & Caddy engines were the popular swap engines in the 50s, and in the 60s the Chrysler hemis became available. They were great engines. A bit later, the Chevy small blocks were easy to get and bolt into just about anything.
And the ideal transmissions back then were the Cadillac/LaSalle 3-speeds, which could handle the torque of the hemi engines also.
