"Christine" rises once more
I finally got my 69 RS running Friday and was going to take it for a drive this week. Went out to the car and found the negative battery cable skinned of it's insulation about 2 inches long right by the fuel pump! My dog had been barking and pacing around it the other day, now this! Then we see a desert squirell run out from it and into the garage. That critter done ate my battery cable! Well I got a new one and I should be headed out for a drive tonite! It's a 327 bored to 335, Edelbrock RPM heads, roller tips rockers Crane cams (have to dig up the specs but it thumps!) I put a Davis HEI in it, and Hooker coated comp long tubes, going into flowmaster american thunder h pipe kit and crossflow muffler. I run a super t-10, and a posi 308, both from 77 Z-28 slightly modified to fit. This was my daily driver for over 15 years and I drove it 300,000 miles with 3 engines, 13 transmissions, 3 rear ends, and 90% of that time with NO AIR, manual steering and drum brakes in Phoenix traffic, all day, Every day. My daughter came home from the hospital in in in 1990 and it has hauled my 7 piece drum kit and 2 spekers more times than I can count. I have had it four wheelin down by the lake on trails I probably shouldn't, and lived to tell the tale! She's is a POS, but I love her to death and might be buried in her yet....[img][/img]...[img][/img]....[img][/img]...[img][/img]

Re: "Christine" rises once more
My girlfreind at the time (January of 1987) named her Christine because I was pretty obsessed with it, and spent a lot of time underneath of it, instead of her I guess. There is almost no part of this car that doesn't need to be redone. There are holes in the roof bigger than a quarter from the old vinyl top, and I slid into a car in 2004 and had to replace most of the front end. The interior is mostly non- existant, although I did put a dash pad on it back in the 90's.Even with all that, she is a hell of a thrill ride when you need it to be.

The guy I bought my house from had a '69 mustang that had personalized plates that said "69 baby".
