1976 Olds Cutlass BBC

I know i am going to get beat up about this but i am in the process of getting parts together to put a Big Block Chevy in my Olds. Does anyone have any experience with this conversion on even with a SB - BB conversion in a Malibu, Monte, or est. I have a uni fit trans So i dont think ill have issues with that. I am more concerned with the motor mounts and what not (which to buy or use).

Any help would be great thank you

I've seen Chevy motors in lots of cars other than Chevy....heck GM put Olds engines in Pontiacs, so no reason why you shouldn't.

Which BBC do you plan to drop in it? If the motor is out already post a pic of the frame holes that the mounts will have to fit in. That might help you cause as far as someone making a recommendation for which ones to get.

Mid 70's Mark IV bored 30 over. The motor is out yet waiting to get the BB together first then do the swap.

I would check that all your accessories are going to bolt up right. I think I remember that Olds had the alternator, AC, mounted in different locations than Chevy.

Your one issue may be re-routing some wiring. The A-body frames usually have all the bolt holes you will need , in the front cross-member.
As far as Chevy engines are concerned, my partner's '78 Regal came with a 305 Chevy engine. It's all corporate stuff being swapped around, I would think, and maybe why the 200-4R trans has dual bolt patterns.

I had a 77 Olds Delta 88 that had a chevy 350 in it.

There was a lawsuit at one time, maybe early 80s, where someone with a new Olds did not like the idea of their new car having a Chevy engine in it. JB

This guy put a 468 in his '77 Cutlass. If you tool around his pages, I think you'll be able to find all the parts. I figured everything should bolt up with Chevy accessories...

I realize this is a little off, but when I swapped from a 350 to a 454, The motor mounts were able to be reused just moved closer to the radiator. There was several bolts holes already in the crossmember. Do you know if you have extra holes in your crossmember?
