Thanks guys. It's dirty and still not done but getting closer. Big indoor car show in about 10 days so I'm hustlin to finish it.

I second Limey's opinion. Extremely nice! Are those Coys rims?

Re: Dash woodgrain
Budman, I have to say that's definitely one of the nicest Malibu's on here. Keep up the good work!
Personally, I'm a fan of the textured bezel w/o the grain. Just my $0.02.

Re: Dash woodgrain
Thank you. To be honest all I had were wood grain bezels and the ones I took the wood off of I couldn't seem to get rid of the glue residue. So I just painted over the wood and it turned out pretty good. Thanks again for the comments.

I had no problem getting the glue off mine. I like the grain of the plastic

Re: Dash woodgrain
What kind of glue is used to paste new woodgrain inserts? Reading this thread it seems impossible to get the old one off. Do you simply rough it up a bit before regluing. Having the same problem trying to get a waterproof decal off the door jamb. Only got a third of it off.

It's a product name.
Another is "Goo gone".
Both are citrus based adhesive/tar removers.

Re: Dash woodgrain
There is a restoration shop that does this woodgraining...saw them in a magazine years ago....but I wasn't able to find them in a google search. I'm sure some more hunting and a phone call or two would find a guy to do this properly.
