Thanks for the welcomes I just put up a bunch of pictures, I am not sure if they are in anyway linked to my profile (im new, i know lol) but they are the ones titled 'TJ's 73 malibu' in the gallery! Got some good eye candy for you guys
Definitly was a good find, and especially for the price! When I saw the car and heard how much the old lady wanted for it, I was all in!

Just looked at your pictures, very nice!! Love the poverty caps...don't see those often. Looks like your prndl is broken.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Thanks guys! Yeh ya never see the old moon hubs anymore. I am thinking about taking them off (the caps and wheels) just to preserve them. Yeh the car has a few granny dents and stuff, and a few minor things such as the prndl and a small tear in the interior, but all to be rectified in the coming weeks The one good thing about working at a car dealership is having good mechanics and detailers that are willing to help out however they can

So Calif. I.E. 1973 Chevelle
Hello Everyone. My name's Buzzman. It's not my given name but if you were t call by that, I know you don't know me. I've been called all kinds of varied Buzz names for many years.
I work in the water infrastructure of Southern California. Not so much for the state but sort of quasi-water/gov job. I make sure the water, raw and treated, gets delivered. From Lake Havasu (MWD) to Lake Mathews and Castaic lake (CADWR) to Los Angeles.
Got bikes, boat, quads an all kinds of crap in between.
I'm in the midst of building a hardtail Sportster bobber. The Chevelle just sort sprang up a little earlier than expected.
An older fellow a block away has two. The one I posted pics of and a blue one. "Frank" the older fellow, is gettin up in age and can't take care of himself too well anymore. The family decided to sell one of the Chevelles. They plan on keeping the blue Chevelle and the 50 Chevy pick-up.
I've been a casual acquaintance with "Frank" for a while. So when I saw the sale sign go on it, I jumped on it. I've always wanted a 73 Chevelle. My wife's partial to the 72 but for some reason, I think the 73's got it over the 72 any day!
Back in the early 70's, I had an older neighborhood friend Randy Lindscott, who presided over a car club called the So Cal Chevelles Ltd. It was probably the most prestigious car club in the San Gabriel Valley.
Ahh the good ol' days!
Anyway - That's all I got fer now!

Buzzman, that neighbor sounds very much like me. In the last 4 or 5 years my health has dropped like a rock and what hurts more than anything is that I no longer can fix my cars. Often I try, but then realize it's not to be. JB

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hi Steve,
Welcome to a great site, both my wife and myself have g3 malibus.
Hers is a nice clean 77 with a 350, mine is a 76 with a 454 but not as clean as hers. We are in Canada so because of rust there are not many left up here. We got hers from California and mine is from South carolina.
Thanks Graham

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hi, my name is Kevin and I live in North Dakota, I am finally breaking down and sending my 75 Malibu Classic with my son to his high school shop class to do some body work and redo the interior. This is one of those projects I have been putting off for the last 15 years and just don't seem to have time to do it, and he is really interested in this project so I figured its better to let him do it than having it sit around for another 15 years and rotting away more. I didn't realize when I started this how hard it was to find parts, so I would greatly appreciate any and all information any one has available to use, especially for the interior and some of the exterior chrome pieces. I am glad I stumbled across this web sight as it already looks like it will be a great help to have so many others who have been through this before available to coach me through the process as well. Thank You.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Thanks for the welcome I will keep that in mind, I have a brother in Spearfish that can help out if we need to hook up on parts. My son wanted to take this with him last year to shop class but I was a little leary because it was his first year then I got to see an old Galaxy they did last year and it turned out good. I will post pictures as it progresses.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hi everybody, my name is John and I live in mentor Ohio (lake Erie shoreline). I have a 74 chevelle that I bought in 1994 (when I was 19). It's got the original 350/350 combo it was born with, however I've spent the last 18 years constantly improving it. It has a black 76/77 cutlass bucket seat interior with hurst dual gate shifter. The engine has #416 305 ho heads, a mild cam, hooker headers, msd 6a box, performer rpm intake and holley carb. The trans was built in the late 90's with a transgo performance rebuild and a coan converter. And finally the original 8.5 got a Richmond powertrax, and some 373 gears. I have pics on chevytalk (g3 pics, most recent post). Anyway I really enjoy this site since I found it and joined a few days ago.
