The GTO referenced in the above links in Indianapolis. Seems as though the hood would be a "wanted" piece. The rest of the car was pretty well picked. Might have been brought to the yard in mostly robbed condition. Dash was in the car and all removed from it except for the HVAC controls. Rest of interior gone.

I agree...that hood would surely be of interest to someone restoring one of these cars.  Unfortunately, there seems to be an extremely low level of interest in these cars...and, I just don't understand why.  And, I've found out first hand that it doesn't pay to try and rescue parts before the car goes to the crusher as you'll just end up sitting on them until the day comes when you're tired of trying to find any interested parties and they end up going into the trash, anyway.  

BTW...I don't see any rust on the fenders/doors/qtrs, either.

Well...that was certainly short-lived. Now, don't you feel guilty for not saving that hood/fenders/doors/nose when you were out there, Impalamonte? Think of the lawn art you could have had...lol!

If you are in the Tacoma Washington area, the local pick n pull just got in a very nice 77 Monte. I cannot understand why it would be in the junkyard. They also just got in a 73 El Camino, the picture is not good but it looks nice from what I can see.
