So much for downsizing with the birth of our son... here is one of my two new projects, though this one is fun to enjoy right now!  This is my 1973 Malibu wagon.  It appears to have just under 90k original miles.  

The wagon was originally light green exterior, with the current dark green interior.  Eventually I'll have it painted some variation of green.  There is one small split on the backseat otherwise the interior is excellent (but the split is under the baby car seat base, so well hidden).  It has been lowered 3 inches, and has a strong running rebuilt 350.  The AC even works!

So far all I've done is install the factory wheels from my 73 Z28 that were sitting in my basement, installing my favorite steering wheel (roped 80ish Z28 wheel), painted the grill, and general cleaning, changing bulbs, etc.  It actually passed Missouri inspection this weekend... since I plan on driving it so much, I didn't want to do historic plates.

There are several more little things that I'm planning on doing in the short term, but I plan to drive and enjoy it throughout the process!

That's a really nice wagon! Very rare in such nice shape -- it doesn't look like it needs much done at all.

Today, i officially put the wagon "in service" as my vehicle used to work on my rental house.  My El Camino is finally being painted now, so it is out of service. Still plenty of room since the backseat is up (I didn't want to take out the carseat, the little guy loves riding around listening to the rumbling exhaust).

I have boxed in rear trailing arms on the way from Spohn, and am going to install a rear sway bar when I get them in. I have both an extra SS/S3 bar, but I also have a mid 90s Impala SS bar that is the W shape. Is there any significant difference in the performance of he two? I'm leaning toward the Impala sway bar just because I'm interested in a different look, but wanted advice from anybody who has used both...

Top one is the Regular Chevelle / Laguna / S3 sway bar and the bottom is the SS and gives the better performance wise

I'm planning on putting my 15x8 Corvette wheels on soon (that are pictured on my maroon wagon thread), and need some advice on the tire size. Right now the Camaro wheels on it are 255/60/15 on the back and 225/60/15 on the front. 

I'd like to go with 275/60/15 on the back and 255/60/15 on the front. It doesn't look like I'd have any clearance issues, but wanted to see if anybody thinks I'll have an issue...

You'll be fine. Chris 73454monte runs 275/60/15's on all four corners (on 15/8 corvette wheels) and has no clearance problems.

I wouldn't be worried if the wagon were stock ride height. I searched to find if anyone had any lowered G3 with that setup and haven't found anything.

Well guys, despite my reservations, I sold this wagon. I really didn't think it would sell for what I was asking for it, but in 48 hours, a gentlemen came from mid-Kansas with a trailer.

I got great use of out it this summer working on my rental house that was for sale, work that I wouldn't have been able to do since my El Camino has been at the body man all summer.

I totally lucked out... enjoyed it, used it, and ultimately made a few bucks on it!
