Re: universal lambda sensor
Not gonna make a difference on carbs because there is nothing to hook up electronically on them. It's all adjusted by hand (err... screwdriver).

Re: universal lambda sensor
yes, i know that, but few of my friends tried it as a method of making sure that carb is adjusted well. you hook it to the laptop and see the fuel distribution curve (it reads oxygen levels if i understand correctly, but it helps you to see if there is not enough/too much or just enough fuel delivered.)
it might not make any difference to an experienced carb tuner, but i cant count myself among those lol.
im just not sure how easy it is for use or if its worth them 200$ (price+shipping+a few% to keep the liberal fu**s in our government happy...)

Re: universal lambda sensor
Hmmm...... I never really thought about it being used as a tuning device. Simple Air/fuel ratio gauges & vacuum gauges might be all you need, but it would be cool to hook everything up to a laptop & see what your engine is doing. Maybe someone else can chime in on this.

Re: universal lambda sensor
I have used the Innovate WB on a dyno, and I don't recommend them. We found it's response slow. It used an NGK lambda, which typically isn't the best. It looks like they are now using Bosch which could be much better. What we ended up using is an AEM product with a Bosch Lambda. Response was immediate and accurate. AEM builds pretty good stuff and it's pretty economical.
Just keep in mind, it is tough to read a rapidly changing gauge. Some type of logging device would be ideal for accurate tuning.

Re: universal lambda sensor
im thinking of connecting it to the laptop, there's supposed to be some programme that draws the fuel delivery curve in relation to engine rpm.

Re: universal lambda sensor
How is engine rpm obtained by the laptop?
Can you send a link to the software?
